Why pet care in your home is more optimal than a boarding facility

There are many pet care options for those little (and large) critters that depend on us! At times it can be a struggle to truly decide what option is best! While we are a bit biased, here are some aspects to consider!
ROUTINE
In-home pet care allows your pet to continue their usual routine and schedule! Whether your pet needs timed medication like insulin or just thrives when they know what to expect surrounded by their own belongings that smell like you, the routine of having care provided in your home allows your pet to feel secure in their routine!
STRESS
Boarding facilities are innately a stressful place. While there are outliers that prioritize the mental well-being of the pets that stay with them and there are pets that could be anywhere with anyone and thrive regardless, most boarding facilities cater to the number of pets they care for versus each individual pet. In-home pet care truly caters to your pet's well-being and keeping their stress levels low.
PERSONALIZATION
While your pet is being cared for in their own home, their needs can be catered to! Whether that means a walk every morning before breakfast, snuggles on the couch before bed, or having their meals prepared in a specific fashion, that is only the beginning with in-home pet care personalization.
SAFETY
From the home perspective, having a pet care provider come and go from your home gives the sense to surrounding humans that someone is home or will be home shortly, especially when the provider grabs packages and mail from the porch. It also allows for things like a burst pipe or a malfunctioning air conditioner to be found much quicker (ergo more cost effective), compared to coming home to a flooded or 90 degree home! From the pet perspective, your pet staying in their own environment is innately healthier. Boarding facilities, while under guidelines to keep illnesses to a minimum and health to a maximum, are ideal grounds for certain illnesses such as Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (also known as "Kennel Cough"), amongst others.
All in all, there are numerous benefits to pet care being provided in the pet's home! We at Sasha & Co Pet Services believe that as a general statement, that is the optimal route to take for the majority of pets and families!
